MARH, Mar 2: Terming creation of new administrative units as an appreciable initiative of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Minister for Planning, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra, today said that this will ensure fast track development of all the areas of the State.
The Minister was addressing a public gathering at Patniyal in Marh constituency today.
The Minister appealed the people to avail the benefit of schemes launched by the Government for their progress and prosperity so that the purpose of the Government of taking the development profile of the state to new dimensions could be achieved. He highlighted the achievements of the Government in different sectors, adding that introduction of Public Service Guarantee Act, SKEWPY, EDI are some of those efforts.
Sadhotra said that Government is working hard to benefit every part of the State, adding the development projects completed have changed the developmental scenario of the State. He said several major and medium projects have been completed and some are in progress across the State.
Extending gratitude to Chief Minister for creating new administrative units besides giving sub division status to Marh, the Minister said this will reduce the problems of the people besides improving socio-economic status of the people. He asked people to work out area specific development needs and come up with suggestion so that plans are framed accordingly.
Asking people to strengthen the secular character of the State, Ajay Sadhotra cautioned people to remain vigilant against those who are trying to divide people on religious lines.
Later, the Minister attended a function organized in connection with 636th death anniversary of Shri Ravi Das Guru Mahraj at Ranjit Poura and paid tributes to the great Saint. He appealed the people to follow the teachings of the saint who always spread the message of brotherhood and equality. He announced Rs. 10 lakh for development of Ranjitpura and Ravi Das Sabha.
Meanwhile, the Minister inspected ongoing work of Rs.1.02 crore drainage project at Gole Gujral and asked executing agency to speed up work for its timely completion.
