1 POK resident arrives; 4 Kashmiri crosses LoC

SRINAGAR, Mar 3: Only one resident of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) arrived here while four Kashmiri people crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, who were separated in 1947 due to partition.

As many as 20 returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector today.

Official sources said that only one POK woman arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman setu, peace bridge in Uri sector.

They said 17 Kashmiris, including five women and four children, who had gone to POK, also returned to their homes after completing stay with their relatives.

Four Kashmiris, including two women and a child, crossed over to other side of the LoC to meet their relatives, they said, adding three POK residents also returned to their homes after completing their stay here.

The Karvan-e-Aman bus service, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of POK, has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 since April 7, 2005. (AGENCIES)
