MENDHAR, Apr 20: Javed Ahmed Rana, president Pir Panjal Zone, JKNC, and former Legislator, highlighted the pivotal role of the younger generation in combating the fabricated narrative of development propagated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
He underscored the urgency of democratic processes and the imperative need to challenge misleading claims of progress. The senior NC leader was speaking at the public meeting held in support of NC candidate at Gursai area of Mendhar, in district Poonch. Former MLA Surankote Ch Mohd Akram was also present.
Javed Rana emphasized the foundational significance of upholding democratic principles in the Indian socio-political landscape. “Elections serve as the bedrock of democracy, enabling citizens to exercise their fundamental right to select representatives who genuinely reflect their aspirations. We must vehemently uphold the sanctity of elections as a bulwark against any attempts to subvert the will of the people,” he said.
Rana stressed on the crucial role of the youth populace in confronting the prevalent misinformation campaign perpetuated by the BJP regarding development. “The youth embody the spirit of dynamism and innovation, essential ingredients in challenging the false narratives spun by those in power,” he said.
“Their active participation and critical engagement are paramount in debunking the myths surrounding development and advocating for genuine progress that benefits all segments of society,” Rana said adding that BJP Govt at the Centre has miserably failed to provide basic amenities to the people, urging citizens to throw their support behind the National Conference (NC) candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Ch Mohd Akram denounced the BJP’s neglect of essential services and infrastructure in Surankote, Mendhar and surrounding areas. “For too long, the people of Mendhar and Surankote have suffered due to the BJP’s incompetence and indifference towards their basic needs. From inadequate healthcare facilities to substandard education, the BJP has failed to prioritize the welfare of our citizens,” he added.
He appealed to the people of Mendhar and Surankote to rally behind the NC candidate Mian Altaf in the upcoming elections, citing the party’s track record of championing the interests of the people.
