Yogi asks KP leaders to unite on one time rehabilitation issue

JAMMU, Apr 20: Senior KP leader, M K Yogi has appealed all social and political leaders of displaced Pandit community to come on a single platform for serving the community cause irrespective of their affiliations with political parties.
Addressing a meeting of the KP social activists here today, Yogi said the community is facing innumerable problems and its one time settlement in Valley needs immediate attention from the Government. He said 34 years displacement has added to the woes of community whose future has been turned bleak and community should now press for one time settlement in its homeland Kashmir.
He said Kashmiri migrants living in forceful exile have been facing a lot problems on day to day basis and have pinned great hopes in present regime in addressing the same in days to come especially their honourable rehabilitation. He said one such issue which worried this displaced community during last some days was issuance of ration coupon slips on monthly basis instead of yearly basis a procedure adopted earlier.
Yogi complimented the chief Secretary J&K, Atal Dulloo, Secretary Relief and Rehabilitation, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Migrants J&K who have acceded the genuine demand of migrants to issue one time ration slip coupon book for one year as per past practice. This issue was raised by almost all the social and political organisations of the community at all levels and sought immediate restoration of old system that is in place for more than two decades for overall convenience and comfort of the community.
