JAMMU, Apr 21: The two-day free multi specialty health camp at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Jagti Township organized by Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj (VKS) and Global Solace Society in collaboration with Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, Department of Health & Medial Education (JK UT), American Oncology Institute and several local health service providers on April 20-21, concluded with over 2640 patients registering for the camp.
The camp was earlier inaugurated by Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo in presence of Director Health Services Rakesh Magota, Jammu; Relief Commissioner, Dr Arvind Karwani; ADC Shishir Gupta, Jammu and Dr Sushil Razdan, Dr Yudvir, Dr Indu Koul, Dr Goutam Goel Medical Superintendent Dr Sanjay Raina (under whose supervision the health check up was organized) the other prominent citizens and doctors invited to attend this camp.
The camp provided consultation in the medical specialties like Cardiology, Urology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gynaecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Oncology, Physiotherapist and others would be provided to people along with a number of diagnostic services and medicines on doctors’ advice.
Mammography test was the highlight of the event as it generated a lot of awareness around breast cancer and need for regular check-ups. Ultrasound, X-rays were also done. Those who were given prescription by doctors were given free medicines and free tests. Kiran Watal, patron VKS earlier welcoming the officials and senior doctors said that the residents of camp are relief holders and medical expenses take a heavy toll on them so they avoid treatment. He also complimented LG Manoj Sinha and his administration for cooperating for conducting this mega Health check up camp .
The Global Solace president Pintoo Ji also submit a memorandum to Chief Secretary and other officials on the condition of the SDH Hospital demanding proper budget for the hospital.
The renowned doctors from Medanta Hospital including Dr R. Jyoti Prakash, Dr Himanshu Poonia, Dr Neha Manhas, Dr Arvind Sharma, Dr Ishan Vandan,Dr Supriya besides, Dr Sushil Razdan , Dr K K Pandita, Dr Sureesh Saraf, Dr Indu Koul, Dr Jyoti Hak Dr Ankur Goel, Dr Ab Ganei, Dr Yudvir, Dr Satish Kenu, Dr Surnbi Kudyar Dr Sujeet Bhat, Dr Amit Vaid ,Dr Manmeet Singh, and others examined patients.
Prominent who were also present Rajesh Gupta, Dr Agnishekhar, Sudanshu Sharma, Ashtosh Gupta, Prem Sharma, Askok Kumar, Shiekh Shakeel ,Atuleya Diagnostic Centre Virender Partap Singh did free tests and Prem Sharma provided the free medicines.
