Members highlight issues of public importance

JAMMU, Mar 3: Several Members raised issues of public importance during Zero Hour in the Legislative Assembly today.
Ashok Kumar demanded steps for expeditious re-opening of Desa Road which has been closed due to snow fall. Harshdev Singh demanded adequate compensation to victims of different incidents in Jammu division.
Abdul Gani Malik demanded filling up of vacant posts of teachers in his constituency. Ch. Zulfkar Ali raised the issue of power crisis in Poonch-Rajouri and urged the Government to improve the scenario.
Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat drew the attention of Government towards shortage of ration supply in R.S.Pura. Jugal Kishore demanded widening of Jammu-Akhnoor road to avoid frequent road accidents. Yashpaul Kundal demanded enhancement in the limit of creamy layer from Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh on the pattern of Central Government.
Balwant Singh Mankotia pleaded for addressing the issues of Daily Wagers of various Municipal Committees in Jammu division who are on strike for the past many days. Krishan Chander Bhagat called for adequate funding for the development of bad pockets in his Constituency.
Jagdish Raj Sapolia demanded upgradation of Basohli-Mahanpur road. Abdul Haq Khan raised the issue of death of two ladies in Kupwara due to negligence of doctors and sought action against the culprits.
Mushtaq Ahmed Shah demanded filling up of posts of teachers in Tral area. Abdul Rehman Veeri demanded strengthening of Public Service Commission (PSC). Durga Dass demanded early construction of irrigation tube-wells in his constituency already sanctioned by the Government..
Syed Bashir Ahmed, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Zahoor Ahmed Mir, Abdul Gaffar Sofi and Charanjeet Singh also raised issues of public importance pertaining to their areas.
