RAJOURI, Apr 22: JKNC Pir Panjal Zone president and former Legislator, Javed Ahmed Rana has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its apparent disconnect from the ground realities of the Jammu region, highlighting BJP’s failure to address genuine issues faced by the people and its neglect of basic necessities such as water, power, healthcare and education.
Addressing a public meeting in Doongi area today, Rana emphasized the dire situation faced by the public in the absence of an elected Government, where day-to-day problems remain unaddressed. “It is most unfortunate that common people have no medium to raise their voice for their basic necessities due to the neglect of the BJP Government,” he remarked.
Rana lamented the lack of avenues for the populace to express their concerns, leading to frustration and agitation. “The people are left with no option but to come onto the streets to express their anger and seek redressal of their genuine grievances,” he added.
The senior NC leader underscored the BJP’s failure to fulfil its mandate in the Jammu region since 2014. He pointed out that the BJP had not effectively carried forward projects initiated by previous Governments, both at the state and central levels. As a result, infrastructure upgrades and essential supply schemes have either stalled or progressed at a snail’s pace, exacerbating hardships for the people of Jammu, he added.
“Today, more than ever, we need a cohesive approach to overcome the challenges that confront us. The INDI Alliance represents the collective strength and resolve of parties committed to the welfare and progress of Jammu & Kashmir,” he added.
The former Legislator urged the people of the region to throw their support behind the NC candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. “By supporting the NC candidate, we can ensure that our voices are heard and our interests are represented in the highest echelons of governance,” he said.
Rana called upon the people of Pir Panjal to unite under the banner of the INDI Alliance and to cast their vote in favor of the NC candidate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Today’s meeting was organised by NC leader Mian Mahrooz Ahmed in which District president Rajouri Shafait Khan, Shafakat Mir, Riyaz Choudhary, Nazir Hussain, Mian Sheraz Azhari also spoke on the occasion.
