JAMMU, Apr 22: NSS Unit of Government College of Education (GCoE), Jammu today organized an awareness session on SVEEP programme.
During the event, large number of students participated in a quiz session organized by Shakti Udghosh Foundation. The programme was anchored by Preeti Choudhary, who enlightened the students on various aspects of SVEEP.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jyoti Parihar, Principal of the College appreciated the efforts of the faculty members and said that SVEEP is a flagship programme of the Election Commission of India to promote voter education and participation in elections. She encouraged the students to act as ambassador of the Election Commission and motivate electors in their respective areas to overwhelmingly participate in the elections for strong democracy in the country.
NSS PO Prof Sarita Dogra, Dr Shubhra Jamwal (SVEEP Incharge), Prof Roopa Kumari and Prof Deepali were present at the occasion and spoke regarding the need for creating awareness about ongoing elections and the fundamental duty of citizens to cast their votes.
All the faculty members and non-teaching staff also attended the programme.
