JAMMU, Apr 22: A Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the rejuvenation of the water body (pond) at Manhas Mohalla, Upper Barnai, in Ward number 65 has been prepared but the necessary approval and release of funds for the same is awaited.
This information was shared by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in reply to an RTI application of Advocate Nitin Bakshi.
“The DPR for rejuvenation of water body (pond) at Manhas Mohalla, Upper Barnai, Ward number 65, has been prepared. The work can be taken up after necessary approval and release of funds from higher authorities of Jammu Municipal Corporation,” the Executive Engineer, Municipal Corporation Division-111 replied to PIO JMC in response to the RTI application filed by Nitin Bakshi.
On steps taken by the Corporation to clean the wild shrubs and grass inside the water body, the Executive Engineer said that no exclusive proposal has been framed for the said work.
“The cleaning/maintenance work is included in the DPR for the development/rejuvenation of the project,” he replied.
Pertinently, Advocate Nitin Bakshi has been raising the issue of maintenance and cleanliness of the water body for a long time with no immediate steps seems to be taken for the same.
