Man absconding in rape case held

JAMMU, Apr 23: Police in Miran Sahib Area here claimed today they have arrested an individual who was wanted in a rape case.
A police spokesperson said that on April 11, 2024, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Miran Sahib to the effect that on April 10, 2024, the complainant was raped by a person who fled away after the commission of the offence.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 38/2024 Under Sections 342, and 376 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Mirab Sahib and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, the police spokesperson further said that a team of Police Station Miran Sahib raided different locations including Kullian, Satwari, Bega Bera, RS Pura, Kaku-de-Kothe, Digiana, Model Town, Gangyal, and Bari Brahamana but didn’t get hold of the accused.
After hectic efforts, the accused Deedar Singh of Nihalpur, Kullian was arrested on April 22, 2024, he said.
Further investigation into the case is underway, added the police spokesperson.
Pertinently, the arrest was made by a team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Miran Sahib and incharge Border Police Post Kullian under the close supervision of SDPO RS Pura, SP Headquarters and overall supervision of SSP Jammu.
