JAMMU, Apr 24: National Conference Additional General Secretary and former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today accused the BJP led Government of neglecting the development needs of rural areas in the union territory.
Sadhotra was addressing a party workers meet, during which other party leaders including Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Pardeep Bali, Ayub Malik, Surjit Singh Manhas, Ghar Singh, Bimla Luthra and Zeeshan Rana were also present.
Addressing to the party workers, the NC leader expressed anguish against the BJP Government’s decade-long tenure lamenting its failure to uplift rural areas dispute ample tome in power.
He deemed it unfortunate that even after a substantial period, basic amenities confine to elude the people residing in rural areas, plunging them into enduring hardships and blamed the BJP leaders for deplorable condition of rural areas due to their callous attitude.
Sadhotra minced no word in condemning the hollow promises of unprecedented development made the Government, despite their tall claims of the development, which in reality remained grim from the majority of the villages across the union territory.
Speaking on the occasion, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President, urged the people to support the INDI alliance candidates in the ensuing polls with an aim to safeguard the unity and stability and integrity of the nation.
Gupta said that the alliance is committed to uniting the people from diverse backgrounds, aiming to strengthen the social fabric of the nation and promote solidarity among all its inhabitants amide political uncertainty and upheaval, the alliance pledges to provide stability and continuity in the Government.
He said that by prompting integrity in governance and combating corruption the alliance endeavours to restore public trust in the political system and safeguard the moral integrity of the nation.
The Provincial president emphasised the need of the hour is to support the alliance candidate Raman Bhalla in the Jammu Reasi Lok Sabha seat with an aim to safeguard the Union Territory from impending challenges.
