JAMMU, Apr 24: Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Regional Office, Jammu & Kashmir, celebrated the 75th Foundation Day of ICCR within the premises of Regional Passport Office, Jammu.
On this occasion, a cultural programme was presented by Rattan Lal Shugal & his team members. The event began with a welcome address by Rajesh Kumar, Regional Director, ICCR and Regional Passport Officer, Jammu. He said that ICCR, a cultural wing of MEA mainly aims to enhance India’s soft diplomatic power worldwide and boost India’s skills of cultural diplomacy as well as to bring the whole nation closer through cultural and educational initiatives/exchanges.
Today’s performance started with traditional Punjabi and Dogri folk songs by Rattan Lal Shugal & his team members. Over one and half hour, the artists kept the audience spellbound with their magical performances.
These artists were equally supported by Subash Chander (Dolki), Ram Dayal (Dhol), Raju (Matka), Nirmal Kumar (Khajri), Ramesh Kumar (Pad) and these instrumentalists with their skills indeed cast a spell on the audience.
The programme was coordinated by Reena Slathia, Cultural Officer, ICCR, RO, Jammu. Rajesh Kumar assured to organise more such programmes in future. finally, the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Raman Rawal, Junior Hindi Officer.
