ADGP Armed conducts darbar of JKAP 14th Bn

Jammu, Mar 4: Showing  much concern towards welfare of officers and jawans of subordinate formations across the State, Addl DGP Armed  J&K, S M Sahai today paid a visit to Miran Sahib based JKAP 14th Battalion  to take stock of its functioning, welfare of officers and jawans of the unit.
Mr Sahai, while addressing a Darbar of officers and jawans paid a patient hearing and issued orders of readdressal on spot as a part of his procedure of extending quick relief to subordinate formations.  Number of jawans   and officers put forth their problems and requested for transfer to their home districts.
Mr. Sahai asked the jawans that he is always there to look after their problems. He told the jawans and officers of the unit to be ready for forthcoming elections. He said that during elections everyone from the organization has to work at the cost of personal comfort as these are the testing times for the organization. He advised the jawans not to get provoked under any circumstances with the people during elections or other duties as they will surely come across with the people of different temperaments during such sensitive jobs.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police has been performing different types of duties including Law and order, guarding VIPs and vital installations, and tackling militancy. “Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police has been instrumental in tackling militancy and it is because of the spirit, gallant and unmatched sacrifices of thousands of officers and jawans that we continue to enjoy an atmosphere of peace, security and prosperity in the State”, he added. He said that J&K Police has proven its mettle earning the status of one of the best forces in the country. The sacrifices offered by our jawans cannot be forgotten and it is the prime duty of the police to take care of their families, he added.
The ADGP stressed upon the officers to ensure the foolproof security of the complexes guarded and housed in by the unit by conducting regular inspections of the system put in place and exercising effective supervision of the men on such duties.
Among others the Darbar was attended by IGP Armed Jammu P R Manhas, DIG IR Jammu Vijay Singh Sambyal, SSP APCR S S Sharma, Commandant JKAP 14th Bn T D Saini, SO to ADGP Armed Zahid Manhas,  Anil Katoch SP and Vinay Kumar SP.
