KISHTWAR, Apr 25: The Health Department successfully conducted a free medical camp in Village Kuchal of Block Chatroo in Kishtwar District, marking a significant phase in the “Doctor Apke Dwar” initiative.
This program, championed by the District Development Commissioner Kishtwar and the Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar, aims to bridge healthcare gaps by providing vital medical services to the remote villages of District Kishtwar.
The camp, held at Kuchal Higher Secondary School, featured a team of specialists including gynaecologists, physicians, civil surgeons, paediatricians, ophthalmologists, orthopaedists, and dental surgeons, who provided consultations and treatments to 978 patients.
The day’s activities included 23 ECGs, 168 screenings for non-communicable diseases, 46 laboratory tests covering urine routines, haemoglobin levels, blood sugar, and pregnancy, as well as 23 cataract screenings.
“Doctor Apke Dwar” seeks to reduce healthcare disparities by facilitating access to medical services in rural areas, focusing on the vulnerable populations that have limited medical facilities.
Over the next three months, the initiative will continue to conduct camps, offering comprehensive health services ranging from routine check-ups to the diagnosis and treatment of common ailments, along with crucial health education aimed at disease prevention and awareness.
The local community, including the residents of Village Kuchal, expressed profound gratitude to Dr Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Rajinder Kumar, Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar, and Dr Saima Agoo, Block Medical Officer Chatroo, for their relentless efforts in meeting the region’s healthcare needs.
