Civilian injured, 2 militants trapped

Srinagar, Apr 25: A civilian was injured in an encounter in Nowpora area of Sopore in district Baramulla today.
An official said that a gun battle broke out in Nowpora village after security forces including Police, Army and CRPF cordoned off the area following inputs abouts presence of militants. He said that they had inputs about the presence of two militants inside the village.
He said during exchange of fire between security forces and militants one civilian identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar was injured due to a stray bullet.

“He has received a bullet wound in his right shoulder and is currently being treated in a nearby Hospital. His condition is said to be stable,” he added.
He said that the cordon has been strengthened and security forces are ensuring that no militant escapes from the cordon.
