JAMMU, Mar 4: Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today informed the Legislative Assembly that hike in honorarium of Numbardars and Chowkidars was under examination in the Finance Department. However, he could not give any specific time-frame for conceding the demand.
Replying to the Calling Attention Notice of CPM MLA, M Y Tarigami, Mr Rather said that Finance Department has conveyed agreement to the enhancement in the honorarium of Numbardars and Chowkidars to Rs 751 and Rs 750 per month respectively. However, Revenue Department has again submitted a proposal for further hike in the honorarium of Numbardars and Chowkidars to Rs 1501 and Rs 1500 per month respectively which is under examination in the Finance Department.
“Keeping in view the financial constraints no time-frame can be fixed for conceding this demand”, he made it clear.
