UDHAMPUR, Apr 25: Rash driving and consequent road mishap led to rescue of four bovine animals, which were being smuggled in the said vehicle.
Police said that a Mahindra vehicle, bearing registration number JK14H- 8740 and loaded with bovine animals, was on its way from Sundla towards Udhampur when it overturned near Balpur Link Road around 03:30 hrs , due to over speeding.
While driver of the vehicle fled from the spot, Police and locals rescued the animals, which were packed in a very cruel manner. Police said that these bovine animals were being smuggled to Kashmir for slaughtering purpose.
A case FIR number 42/2024, under section 279/188/IPC 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Majalta.
