JAMMU, Apr 26: A narcotics dealer who was evading his arrest in a case for the past 15 years has been arrested by Government Railway Police (GRP) in Jammu.
A GRP spokesperson said that Shahid Ahmed of Srigufwara, Anantnag, was booked in case FIR number 10/2009 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act registered at GRP Jammu after he was caught with Charas worth Rs 1 lakh from Railway Station Jammu.
“But he was evading his arrest for the past 15 years,” he said, adding that the criminal was arrested today by a team of GRP Jammu from Kashmir Valley.
The criminal is also involved in case FIR number 90/2023 registered at Police Station Srigufwara, Anantnag.
With the arrest of Shahid, GRP Jammu has executed the fifth warrant under section 512 of the CrPC within five weeks.
