JAMMU, Apr 27: For its unwavering commitment to supply top tier quality seedlings to farmers across the Jammu division, the Vegetable Seedling Nursery at Krishi Bhawan here got a two-year accreditation from National Horticulture Board (NHB).
The Nursery, throughout the season achieved a remarkable milestone with the distribution of a record breaking 17 lakh vegetable seedlings to farmers in Jammu region.
A handout stated that this commendable feat highlights Agriculture Department’s dedication to ensure that farmers have access to premium quality seedling material round the year, particularly under protected cultivation, aiming at the concept of vegetable forcing techniques which aims at optimizing yields and enhancing returns for farmers, even beyond the conventional planting season.
Vikas Padha, Agronomist under Vegetable Development Scheme Jammu today presented the prestigious accreditation certificate to Director Agriculture Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen.
Reen extended gratitude to NHB for their acknowledgment and support.
“With this accreditation, we reaffirm our commitment to continue empowering farmers, fostering agricultural sustainability and driving prosperity across Jammu Division,” Director Agriculture Jammu maintained.
