JAMMU, Apr 27: Government Railway Police (GRP) in Jammu claimed they have arrested an individual evading his arrest for the past 28 years.
A GRP spokesperson said absconder Kaka Ram of Village Bagga Chak, Palli Morh, Tehsil and District Kathua, was wanted in case FIR number 01/1996 under sections 379/34 RPC registered at GRP Kathua.
“After the commissioning of the crime, the criminal was living in Punjab by changing his name to evade his arrest,” said the GRP spokesperson, adding that after a hot pursuit, the criminal was chased and arrested by a specially constituted team of GRP Jammu.
After his arrest, the accused was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Kathua for further legal procedures.
This was the sixth warrant Under Section 512 of the CrPC executed by the GRP Jammu in five weeks.
