Bal Bharti Public School Channi Rama celebrates 24th Annual Day

JAMMU, Apr 28: Bal Bharti Public School of Balgran, Channi Rama Jammu celebrated its 24th Annual Day here today.
Bal Bharti Public School was set up by Balgran in 2000 up to 10th class, primarily for the children of Balgran Home only. Gradually this facility was extended to the students of nearby localities also. At present about 120 children of Balgran and 80 students from outside are studying in the school.
Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu and former Director, Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur (HP) addressed the audience as Chief Guest and appreciated the efforts of Balgran in the all round development. She also desired to be associated in person with the Home and extended all kind of support from the University of Jammu and also from her own family for the ongoing efforts of the Home.
Sunit Kumar, Divisional Head, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Jammu lauded the initiative of Balgran for helping the students of underprivileged sections of the Society and extended the support for ongoing development of the infrastructure for the benefit of the children. J&K Bank has already done a lot for the Home and is likely to set up a Solar Panel in the Balgran Complex.
Honorary President Vinod Raina presented in brief the background of the Balgran Home for children and it’s till date academic and extra curricular achievements. Urmil Arora, Principal, Bal Bharti Public School presented the Annual Report of the School.
Sadhna Kachroo, Vice-Principal and Neelam Arora presented the students before the audience who exhibited excellent performance in different academic, co-curricular and sports activities; Inter House English Poem Recitation; Senior Category 1st prize was won by (Rohit Sharma) – class 10th (Raman House) in Junior Category 1st prize won by (Varsha Sharma) – class 6th (Tagore House); while in Sub Junior Category 1st prize was won by (Aafshin ) – class 2nd (Shivaji House); Inter House Hindi Poem Recitation -Senior Category 1st prize (Badal Singh) – class 10th (Shivaji House); in Junior Category 1st prize (Sehaj) – class 4th (Tagore House) while in the Sub Junior Category 1st prize was won by (Navya) – class 2nd (Ashoka House); Inter House Solo Song Competition – Senior Category 1st prize (Raveez) – class 9th (Shivaji House); in the Junior Category 1st prize was won by (Mahmood) – class 4th (Shivaji House); Inter House Symposium Competition – Senior Category 1st prize (Nitti Kumari) – class 8th (Shivaji House) and in Junior Category 1st prize was won by (Manish Sharma) – class 6th (Shivaji House).
In the Inter -House Sports Winners 2023-24; Sack Race – 1st prize was won by Reyazuddin (5th class) Shivaji House; Lemon Race 1st prize won by Vanshika Sharma of (1st class) Tagore House; Musical Chair Competition – 1st prize won by Radhika (Nursery class); One Leg – Race – 1st prize went to Yasser (UKG class); Kho-Kho Team Winner – 1st Prize (Tagore House) Mehak, Minkle,Varsha, Manvi, Manisha and Kumkum; Inter House Badminton Singles Winner (Girls) – Muskan (Class 8th) Ashoka House; Inter House Badminton Doubles Winner (Girls) – (Muskan and Risha) Ashoka House ; Inter House Badminton Singles Winner (Boys) – Rohit Singh (Class 9th) Tagore House; Inter House Badminton Doubles Winner (Boys) – (Rohit and Zubair) Tagore House and Best All-rounder Student 2023-24 was Mohd. Izkar of 9th class.
Meanwhile, Balgran gifted 11 Sewing Machines to ex- students of Bal Bharti Public School who passed the 10th examination during the last five years while staying in the Balgran Home.
In the end Prof. R.D. Sharma, Honorary Secretary expressed gratitude to the Donors and Life Members for running the Balgran Charitable Home.
