RAMBAN, Mar 5: Thirteen people were injured, five of them seriously when two vehicles collided head-on at Mehar falling under the jurisdiction of Ramban Police Station on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway-1 today.
All the injured persons were shifted to Ramban hospital from where five seriously injured passengers were shifted to Government Medical College Hospital here while the rest were still admitted in Ramban hospital.
According to reports a Tata Winger vehicle number JK02U-0146, carrying tourists from Bombay was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, when it met with an accident head on with truck number JK02W-7895, which was coming from the wrong side. Seriously injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, (GMCH) for specialized treatment, while with the normal injures were shifted to District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
On getting information a team of Ramban police and locals of area rushed to the accident site and started rescue operation and shifted all the injured to Ramban hospital from where five injured persons were shifted to GMC Hospital here for specialized treatment.
The injured admitted in District Hospital Ramban included Gulab Jaan wife of Abdullah resident of Kokernag, age 60 years, while other injured are from Mumbai, who are Dhadmali resident of Nehru Market, Sheetal Paralkar wife of Sanjay resident of Anushakti Nagar, BARC Colony, Jayaswan wife of Permanand resident of Champura, Manorma wife of Athanrad resident of Lokamandai, Jorge son of Krishtofar, Jagloni wife of Pardeep resident of Chanpur, Padma Shaloni resident of Nehru Market, Hastofar Jorge, Sushma Devi.
Those referred to Medical College Jammu for specialized treatment are Manorma Devi wife of Atahnrad resident of Lokamandai, Mumbai, Hashtofar Jorge resident of Mumbai, Padma Shaloni resident of Mumbai, Sushma Devi of Mumbai and driver of the winger Harpal Singh son of Mahinder Singh resident of Karan Nagar, Jammu.
