JAMMU, Mar 5: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture and Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today said that Government is on a comprehensive plan to provide improved all basic amenities to the people across the State like safe drinking water, road connectivity, electricity, health, education besides better lanes and drains.
To augment and improve the water supply of the different zones of the State, the Minister said instructions have been issued to PHE and ERA authorities to prepare the projects and submit the same for funding so that new deep drill tube wells could be constructed to meet the requirement of drinking water supply in deficit areas of the State.
To improve the power scenario in low voltage areas, the Minister informed that sufficient funds under APDRP scheme have been approved to install upgraded transformers, creation of receiving stations and replacement of worn out wires in the State.
Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to cooperate with executing agencies in completing the ongoing development in their respective area. He also urged them to personally monitor the quality of development works.
Earlier, the Minister also visited Government Higher Secondary School, Bhour Camp and inspected the ongoing development works of Mini Stadium. He informed that the stadia would be constructed with the facilities of seating stairs, change room, pavellion and parking by December this year.
Later, the Minister alongwith Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board visited Channi Himmat Sector-2 Green Belt Park and inspected the ‘Jullas’ installed for children so that they enjoy their odd hours there with full joy. Former Senior Vice-President of PYC Ajay Tony also accompanied the Minister.
