JAMMU, Mar 5: A demonstration of causal labourers of various departments owing allegiance to J&K National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) was held here, in front of Divisional Commissioner’s Office at Panama Chowk today in support of their demands.
The casual laborers of PWD, Floriculture, PHE, Forest, Wild Life, Soil Conservation, JDA & Agriculture Department participated in the demonstration.
They highlighted the demands of casual labourers, need based workers, left over daily wagers of pre 1994 and CP workers.
The protestors were raising slogans in support of their demands demanding framing of a regularization policy for all daily wagers working in different departments for over 10 years.
They said that all these departments are run by casual labourers, daily wagers etc after the retirement of regular employees.
While addressing the protestors Mohammed Gafoor Dar, State president JKTUF condemned the delaying policies of the State Government regarding regularization and payment of pending wages under proper wage head.
He warned the State Government that further delay regarding the settlement of these genuine issues will force them to launch a massive agitation.
He demanded immediate settlement of the demands.
