JAMMU, Apr 29:  Accusing the Congress, PDP and National Conference (NC) of discriminating against the districts of Rajouri and Poonch, especially the Gujjar-Bakerwal and Pahari Tribes, former MLC, BJP general secretary and Jammu-Poonch in charge, Vibodh Gupta, stated that these parties committed criminal injustices with both the districts across various matters during their successive Governments.
Speaking at a workers’ meeting at Khokhar Hall, Nowshera, along with BJP vice-president and former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma, district president, Neena Sharma, and other leaders, Vibodh Gupta mentioned that the Congress and NC held power in the erstwhile State of J&K for the longest period after independence, yet Rajouri and Poonch were neglected in their policies and schemes. He accused both parties of deceiving the innocent people of Rajouri and Poonch with false promises to garner votes.
Gupta emphasized that the Gujjar-Bakerwals, Paharis, and OBCs suffered the most due to the vote-bank politics of PDP and NC. He highlighted issues such as the denial of basic rights to Gujjar-Bakerwals, the ban on inter-district recruitment, and the absence of a Tribal Department under Congress and NC regimes. He expressed public anger and resentment towards these parties and predicted their defeat in upcoming elections. He also asserted that BJP-aligned candidate would triumph over NC, and PDP candidate in Rajouri-Anantnag Lok Sabha seat and all these issues were solved by BJP Government led by Modi.
He urged people not to be swayed by false promises from Congress, NC, and PDP during elections.
BJP vice president and former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma, while speaking in the meeting, said that the recently held elections in two seats of Lok Sabha have witnessed massive support in favour of BJP and further asserted that the BJP supported candidate in the Rajouri-Anantnag Lok Sabha seat will come out to be victorious with huge margins.
Sham Lal Sharma said that the BJP Government under PM Narendra Modi has governed the country for two terms and achieved the distinction of being a dispensation which worked for every section and region and put the country on the path of development and welfare of masses. He asked the party workers to reach the masses and educate them about the good works of the Modi Government and also inform them about the step motherly treatment given to them by the Congress, NC and PDP.
