Plight of oldies

Sir,
No one can escape entering into the evening of life which always remains painful and monotonous. Grey-haired, spectacled eyes, inflicted with multiple old age diseases, standing in queues on bank counters, travelling in most troublesome situations, holding plates with trembling hands for meal in social functions, these oldies are generally not taken care of. In this world of materialism and more so with disintegration of  joint family system, these oldies have lost choice to live with any one as no son actually desires to keep his parents with him.
In the scenario, the only choice is left, is old, age homes where such evenings can be passed. Moral erosion in the society has disturbed family harmony. Until the elders feel that their presence in the family is needed, they can’t pass their days with dignity. Alas, the sons/daughters forget that this stage of life is surely to come one day. Ingratitude towards parents is an unpardonable sin even in this court. When service towards  mankind is service towards the God, then what to speak of parents. Who spare no pains for their progeny to keep  them happy and prosperous!
Yours etc…..
