Gaurav calls on CS, submits memorandum

JAMMU, May 1: Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu called on the Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo here today.
He discussed pressing issues concerning land acquisition cases and rise in suicide attempts in Jammu city.
In this regard a memorandum was also submitted to the Chief Secretary.
Gaurav commended the efforts of LG Sinha, his office and the Divisional Commissioner Jammu in resolving land delineation issues in Kathua and Samba districts and highlighted the significant number of unresolved cases across the Jammu region, particularly regarding Gair Mumkin Khad.
He apprised the CS about the hardships being faced by the people as well as the trading community due to long pending issue of Gair Mumkin Khad and urged for swift action to ensure justice for affected individuals as well as the members of business community.
Expressing serious concern over the alarming rise in suicide attempts at the River Tawi bridge in Jammu, he proposed the implementation of comprehensive fencing on both sides of all bridges spanning the River Tawi, following the pattern of New Delhi.
He emphasized that such measures would create a safer environment and act as a deterrent against tragic incidents.
The Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing to the issues put forth by Gaurav Gupta and assured prompt consideration of the memorandum’s recommendations.
