JAMMU, May 1: Police claimed today they have arrested two hardcore criminals from RS Pura and Miran Sahib areas.
According to them, one of the notorious criminals, Tajinder Singh alias Happy of Miran Sahib, was detained under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) for his repeated criminal activities in an organised manner, posing a threat to peace and order.
Police said that accused didn’t change his behaviour/criminal activities despite booking under several FIRs.
“The accused was involved in more than 10 cases of heinous nature,” said a police official.
Keeping in view the activities and criminal record of the criminal, he was ordered to be detained under Section-8 of the PSA by the orders of the District Magistrate Jammu, he said.
Another hardcore criminal and repeated offender Raman Kumar of Kathar, Arnia, who had been recently released from the jail, was rearrested for his continuous involvement in the criminal activities.
The arrest of Tajinder Singh was made by a team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO concerned under the close supervision of SDPO RS Pura, SP Headquarters and overall supervision of SSP Jammu.
