RAMBAN, May 2: After land subsidence in Dalwass, District administration Ramban today shifted five families to safer places.
Officials said that deep cracks were developed in several houses in Dalwass area of Batote following incessant rains two days back.
They said that during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday house of Swami Raj and Babu Ram, both sons of Devia Megh, both resident of Ward-7, Dalwas developed cracks due to sinking of land.
Both the families were therefore shifted to shelter shed of PWD at Lower Dalwass.
Naib Tehsildar Chanderkote, Farooq Mirza along with Patwari were on the spot to monitor the situation.
Revenue and Police officials said this morning they got reports of land subsidence and developing of cracks in few houses in Dalwass after which they shifted the affected familes to safer places.
Residential houses of Om Singh, Rattan Singh and three others developed cracks.
