Govt forms committee to streamline public service access

JAMMU, May 3: Government today accorded sanction to the formation a committee led by Administrative Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, for simplifying the procedures/documents and other formalities for availing various services under the Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
With Administrative Secretaries of Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, General Administration Department, concerned department, Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department, Special Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, and any other member to be co-opted by the Chairman of the Committee as members, the committee shall oversee the need for simplifying the procedures/documents requirements for public service.
The committee will also look into aspects of linking the services with basic eligibility documents uploaded on digi-locker platform wherever possible.
It will also recommend the amendments in rules so as to notify requirements of essential documents only for availing public service.
