KISHTWAR, May 4: A devastating fire at a three storey residential house in village Paykul Tatani, Saroor in Drabshalla near here today inflicted heavy losses after most of the items lying in the house were reduced to ash.
Sources informed that luckily there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the fire incident.
After noticing the flames locals of the area called Police and tried to douse the blaze using the available resources in their hand and they were soon joined by cops while due to the remoteness of the area fire tenders failed to reach the spot on time and by them the fire had inflicted massive damage to the building.
The burnt house belonged to Mohd Shafi, son of Ilam Din, resident of Paykul Tatani village in Saroor.
Cause of fire was stated to be dry grass kept at the roof of second floor and short circuit there.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
