JKTJAC highlights demands, issues of teachers

UDHAMPUR, May 5: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) was held here today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Udhampur Lekh Raj Parihar.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma demanded release of pending dues of Mid Day Meals for the year 2023-24. He said that though liability of Pre-Primary and Primary for the financial year 2023-24 has been cleared recently, but still there is liability of upper Primary and cooks’ honorarium.
Raising the issue of comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme, he said that these teachers have been working in the same schools for last more than two decades and suffering badly, particularly females due to non availability of transfer policy. He also demanded conversion of Headteachers posts into non plan posts of Masters so that many headless middle schools get justice.
Vinod Sharma also appealed the Director School Education Jammu to issue regularisation orders of ReTs who have completed five years ReT period and conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III.
Other demands highlighted on the occasion included: – raising Grade of teachers at par with their counter parts in other UTs; provision of 2nd teacher in single teacher schools under rationalization, filling up of vacant posts ZEOs/ Principals/ Headmasters, issuance of DPC list of Teachers to Master.
Speaking on the occasion, Lekh Raj Parihar demanded the release of more than two years arrears (time barred) of Teachers and Masters besides updating of service records of teachers in the zones of District Udhampur. He appealed CEO Udhampur to take up this issue with the ZEOs/ DDOs so that teachers may not suffer any more.
JKTJAC leadership also demanded uniformity in all the districts in completing the files of one time exemption to the teachers who have enhanced the higher qualification during service by simplifying the process.
Among those who spoke on the occasion, included Sham Sharma, Sukesh Khajuria, Pritam Goswami, Ravinder Singh Rathore, Bhushan Khajuria, Jagdish Chander Sharma and others.
