REASI, May 5: District Development Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan on Sunday chaired a review meeting to comprehensively assess the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in the district.
The meeting, held in the DC office complex, aimed to evaluate the physical and financial advancements under the centrally sponsored scheme.
Joint Director Planning Narinder Gupta provided an overview of the current status, highlighting both the physical and financial progress achieved in the district.
The DDC emphasized the importance of timely construction of allotted houses, stressing that beneficiaries who have received their installments but failed to initiate work would be served notices. “They will be given a grace period of one week to commence work; failure to do so will result in necessary recovery measures” he added. Additionally, DDC Mahajan directed authorities to complete the pending housing projects by 31st of July.
