JAMMU, May 5: A notorious gangster was booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in RS Pura area of Jammu District today.
A police official said Raman Kumar of Kathar, Arnia, was booked under PSA for his continuous involvement in criminal activities in an organised manner, posing a threat to the public peace and order in RS Pura area.
“The accused didn’t mend his behaviour inspite of him being booked several tunes at different police stations of Jammu and Samba Districts,” he said.
There were 11 FIRs registered against the criminal in Jammu and other districts, the police official further said.
Keeping in view the activities of the accused, he was ordered to be detained Under Section 8 of the PSA by the orders of District Magistrate Jammu, he added.
The arrest was made by a team of Police Station Arnia headed by SHO Arnia under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, SP Headquarters Jammu and overall supervision of SSP Jammu.
