LEH, June 28: For the establishment of district TB Centre with DOT PLUS, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Tsering Angchok, DC, in which team of Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP) comprising Dr Tasleema Sayed, Northern Consultant, WHO and Dr Ashu Pandey, WHO consultant UP from Central TB Division, also took part.
The meeting discussed in detail the need of having a TB Isolation Unit in Leh considering its exceptional geo-graphical location. Under DOT PLUS free sensitivity test and medicines will be provided to drug resistant patients besides TB detection and medication facilities for public.
Later, a site visit was also made and preliminary measures were undertaken in the premises of SNM hospital.
The meeting was attended by senior doctors of SNM including eminent physician Dr Tsering Nurboo.
