VRS given JKRTC employees demand pending arrears

JAMMU, May 8: Voluntarily retired employees of J&K Road Transport Corporation have criticized the JKRTC Management for not releasing the pending dues/ arrears of the VRS given employees.
The VRS accorded employees of the JKRTC in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Dev Raj Bali at Rail Head Complex on Railway Road here today condemned the attitude of neglect of the RTC Management and also higher authorities in Transport Department. The speakers alleged that they have not been paid their COLA and 6th Pay Commission arrears by the RTC authorities despite the fact that Central Government has paid them the funds for the same.
The Government had also constituted a committee for the purpose including FA &CAO, General Manager (Adm), GM (Finance ) which allegedly misguided the Board of Directors and the higher authorities. The liability is not being cleared by the Government despite 12 years long struggle of the retired/ VRS given employees of the J&K Road Transport Corporation.
Dev Raj said that most of them are senior citizens and struggling for their hard earned money for the last more than 12 years. But the authorities concerned have failed to pay their arrears. The officers in J&K administration are only harassing them and adopting delaying tactics.
They appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo to intervene into the matter, discussed in the forthcoming meeting this week and provide justice to over 700 VRS given RTC workers of J&K, struggling for the last more than a decade for getting their hard earned money. Unfortunately, 75 of them have been expired during these past years of struggle.
They demanded COLA arrears with effect from 1999 to Dec 2005; 6th Pay Commission arrears from Ist Jan 2006 to Apr 2012 and pending DA arrears with effect from April 2012 to March 2021.
The meeting was also attended by Sat Bhushan Singh, Surinder Singh, Allah Rakha, G S Tohta and others.
