JAMMU, Mar 9: Close to the heels of a purse snatching incident near Peer Baba, Gandhi Nagar two days back, some unidentified bikers snatched the gold chain of a woman in Valmiki Colony last night, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar police station.
As per police sources, a woman namely Rani, wife of Karam Chand of Valmiki Colony was going home along with her daughter-in-law when some unidentified bikers snatched the gold chain of the woman last night.
The victim raised hue and cry and locals rushed to the spot, but till then the bikers fled from the spot.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and manhunt has been launched to arrest the chain snatchers.
However, no arrest has been made till late tonight.
It is to mention that, some unidentified motorcyclists also snatched a purse containing cash around Rs 25,000 and some other essentials from a lady namely Bindiya Gupta, a resident of Nanak Nagar near Peer Baba, Gandhi Nagar on March 7. The accused in this case are also still at large.
