JAMMU, June 28: Alleging that there is a big scandal in the store stock, science kits, purchasing and supplying of books and treasury withdrawl on March 31, 2012, Pir Panchal People Forum has appealed the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to personally intervene into the matter and hold an independent inquiry.
In a press statement, general secretary of the Forum, Aijaz Khan and Jawed Mughal have appealed the Chief Minister, who is also holding Portfolio of Education Department, to constitute a commission to conduct an independent physical verification of store stock, science kits, books purchased and supplied as well as treasury withdrawal.
They maintained that there is a big scandal as the expenditure shown against some purchased items is totally fictitious the fact is that those items were never purchased.
They also alleged that the norms laid down by the Government have been violated in CEO and ZEO offices above board quoting that for last seven years more than 100 teachers have been working in the CEO and ZEO offices due to reasons best known to CEO and his other officials.
Meanwhile, Executive body of Organisation for social justice in a meeting expressed serious concern over the multi-crore scam in different Government Departments like Consumer Affairs, Social Welfare, ICDS, etc. and appealed the Chief minister Omar Abdullah to constitute a commission of non-local officers to carry out an independent probe.
