KATRA, May 9: The School of Electronics and Communication (ECE) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, organized a two-day workshop on VHDL and FPGA Hands on Training.
This industry-focused program was aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and skills in a field with growing demand. The workshop attracted a total of 30 students from across various Engineering Departments.
Led by Industry expert Kumar Divya, Application Engineer-ASIC/FPGA at CoreEL Technologies, the sessions covered a comprehensive range of topics. Students delved into the world of FPGAs, exploring diverse families, ZYNQ and ZYNQ MPSOC architecture, and the design flow using Vivado.
The workshop also covered PYNQ Python Productivity and delved into the integration of custom IPs with Vivado. Embedded System Design using VITIS rounded out the program, providing students with a holistic understanding of FPGAs in the embedded systems domain.
These interactive sessions, facilitated by Kumar Divya, fostered a rich learning environment. Students gained valuable insights into the latest trends and applications of FPGAs, while discussions and clarification of doubts ensured a deep understanding of the material. Dr Anil Bhardwaj, HoD ECE, presented vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, according to a handout, School of ECE, SMVDU hosted Professor M K Soni, who is a Retired Professor, NIT Kurukshetra, former Director DCRUST Murthal, Pro-Chancellor Lingaya’s Vidayapeeth Nachauli. He visited labs and interacted with staff, faculty, and students. He provides suggestions regarding curriculum development, lab development and how to upgrade the teaching- learning methodology in the present era.
The interactions were attended by all faculty members of the School including Dr Purnima Hazra, Dr Vikram Singh and Dr Kamaldeep. Dr Anil Kumar Bhardwaj, Head, School of ECE was also present during the interaction.
