GMC observes ‘Luminal Malignancy Day’

Srinagar, May 10: The Department of Minimal Access and General Surgery at Government Medical College Srinagar conducted its first Luminal Malignancy Day in collaboration with the Department of Radiation and Medical Oncology.
Under the leadership of Professor Iqbal Saleem Mir, Head of the Department of Surgery, the day featured a series of surgeries utilizing cutting-edge laparoscopic techniques.
In a statement, GMC highlighted that these surgeries targeted various gastrointestinal malignancies, showcasing the faculty’s proficiency to offer patients minimally invasive yet highly effective treatment options.
The day served as a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together experts from surgery, radiation oncology, and medical oncology, with support from the PG Department of anesthesia.
Live demonstrations of laparoscopic procedures were a key feature of the event, allowing attendees to observe firsthand the precision and innovation driving modern surgical techniques.
