SRINAGAR, June 28: The Government has sanctioned Rs 6.53 crore under State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) for relief and rehabilitation of disaster victims.
This was announced by Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla while chairing a high level meeting held to review the implementation of SDRF in the State.
Detailing the breakup of the sanctioned amount, the Minister revealed that Rs 3.58 crore have been kept for Kashmir Division and Rs 0.70 crore for Jammu Division on account of death, injury and houses damaged on 19th and 20th March, 2012 wind storm that struck the Kashmir Valley and parts of Jammu Division. Besides, Rs 50 crore have been allotted for Kashmir Division and Rs 0.63 crore for Jammu Division on account of damages caused to the infrastructure of Power Development Department.
Similarly, Rs 0.60 crore for Kashmir Division and Rs 0.50 crore for Jammu Division have been kept at the disposal of respective Deputy Commissioners for meeting unforeseen eventualities due to natural calamities.
