SRINAGAR : Traffic was resumed on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway today after remaining suspended since early this morning due to landslides and shooting stones at several places and fresh snowfall.
A traffic official said traffic was resumed on the highway after the landslides at Penthal and Batrey Cheshma, triggered by heavy rains, were cleared.
Hundreds of vehicles, which had left Jammu are moving towards Kashmir now, he said.
Vehicles, which had left Jammu for Srinagar were stopped at several places on the highway.
Snowfall on this side of the tunnel, however, did not affect the traffic movement.
Only one-way traffic is plying on the highway since December last year the traffic was allowed from Jammu to Srinagar. However, no vehicle was allowed from Kashmir. (AGENCIES)
