JAMMU, May 12: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today took Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar and National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah to task for their remarks that Pakistan has atom bombs saying Rahul Gandhi can be scared of the atom bomb, the BJP Government is not.
He declared that Pakistan occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) belongs to India and “we will take it”.
Addressing election rallies in Uttar Pradesh including Raebareli, Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi made Jammu and Kashmir an integral part of India.
“Congress, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) preserved Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir like their child but the people made Narendra Modi the Prime Minister for second term and in August 2019 he abrogated the Article permanently from Kashmir and made the erstwhile State an integral part of India,” the Home Minister said.
“But these two princes… Akhilesh (Yadav) and Rahul Baba say that if they come (to power), they will bring back Article 370,” Shah said.

Targeting Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar and National Conference president and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Dr Farooq Abdullah, the Union Home Minister said these two leaders have stated that Pakistan should be respected because they have the atom bomb and don’t demand PoJK.
“Today, I want to ask… Is PoJK not a part of India? Rahul baba, if you want to be scared of the atom bomb, be scared, we are not scared. Pakistan occupied Jammu Kashmir belongs to India and we will take it,” Shah declared.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi ended terrorism in India and made the country safe and secure.
On surgical strikes, Shah said, “Modi conducted the surgical strikes, was it good or bad? Rahul raises questions on surgical strikes. I want to ask him, do you support the surgical strikes or not?”
“Rahul should tell the people of Raebareli that do you support the scrapping of Article 370 or not? Shah asked, adding that the former Congress president should seek the votes of the people of Raebareli after answering these questions.
“I want to ask these questions publicly – triple talaq, which was abolished by Modi … Was it good or bad? Rahul baba, answer the people of Rae Bareli whether you want to bring back triple talaq? They were saying that they will bring it back. Today, I want to ask in the presence of the public of Rae Bareli to make (your stand) clear,” he said.
“Instead of Muslim personal law, should there be a Uniform Civil Code or not? They say that they will bring (back) the Muslim personal law,” he said.
“I also want to ask him why you did not go to the Ram temple in Ayodhya (after ‘Pran Pratishtha’). Give an answer,” Shah said.
PTI adds: Amit Shah said, “You (the people) gave the Gandhi family a chance for years, but no development work has been done … They (Congress) do not believe in development. They do not even come to you in your happiness and sorrows.”
Asking people to vote for BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh, the Union Minister said, “We will connect Raebareli with Modi’s development journey.”
“The ‘shahzada’ (prince) has come here to seek votes. You have been voting for many years. Have you received anything from the MP fund? If you have not received it, then where did it go? It went to their vote bank. Sonia Gandhi has spent more than 70 per cent of the MP funds on minorities,” Shah claimed.
MP fund refers to the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme under which MPs can recommend development programmes involving expenditure of Rs 5 crore each year in their constituencies.
Intensifying his attack, he said, “This Gandhi family is an expert in lying. They are now promising Rs 1 lakh for every woman. In the Telangana (Assembly) elections, they had said that they would give Rs 15,000 to every woman. The women of the State elected them (Congress) … Forget about Rs 15,000, they did not even give Rs 1,500.”
“Many people here told me that this is a family seat… It is true. The people of Raebareli have made the Gandhi and Nehru families win for years. But after getting elected from here, how many times did Sonia Gandhi and her family come to Raebareli? Okay, Sonia’s health is not good, but has Rahul or sister Priyanka come?” he asked.
