JAMMU, Mar 10: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has declared Ashok Kumar Bhagat, as its candidate for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency.
Addressing press conference here today, national general secretary of the party, Narinder Kashyap (MP) said that national president of the party and former Utter Pradesh Chief Minister Kumari Mayawati has cleared the name of senior BSP leader Ashok Kumar Bhagat to contest Lok Sabha election from Jammu-Poonch constituency. He said the party has already announced Dharam Pal as its candidate for Udhampur-Doda LS seat.
Mr Kashyap pointed out that people of the country have been fed up with the Congress Party and its policies moreover, they have tried BJP also. The people now want change and they are looking for the third option. He claimed that BSP is the only party which can give better alternative to the people of the country.
Criticising Congress for encouraging corruption and its failure to control prices of essential commodities in the country, the BSP leader said that there was strong resentment among the people against Congress party and it will certainly face the wrath of the public. He said that BJP has been dubbed as the communal party by many groups and the people have tried it. Mr Kashyap claimed that only BSP can provide better, accountable and transparent alternate to the people.
The party national general secretary further disclosed that Party president Kumari Mayawati would address a grand public rally at Parade Ground on April 1 in support of party candidate. He alleged that State and the Central Governments have failed to address the issue of refugees of PoK/ West Pakistan and provide justice to the poor and down trodden members of the society.
Party State coordinator and president, Tulsi Dass Langeh besides party candidate, were present on the occasion.
