SRINAGAR, Mar 10: Dozens of students of Polytechnic College of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) today staged protests against the varsity authorities for fee hike and demanded refund of paid fee.
The protesting students said that the varsity authorities charge them Rs 38, 000 per annum, while as rest of the Government Polytechnic Colleges in the State charge just Rs 2300 as annual fee.
The students said they approached several times to the concerned officials including Vice Chancellor of IUST, who assured them every time the extra-charged fee would be refunded to students once the Government releases funds to the Varsity.
They appealed authorities to look into the matter and charge them fee structure as charged in other Government Polytechnic Colleges of the State.
