JAMMU, May 14: Jal Shakti Department has initiated Regular Departmental Action against Rajinder Kumar Gupta, the then Executive Engineer, PHE Division Akhnoor and presently posted in the Irrigation Division number 1, Jammu, for allegedly submitting a misleading reply before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).
The Competent Authority decided to conduct an exhaustive enquiry into the allegations against him after examining his written statement in reply to the charges.
Ashwani Khajuria, Special Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer while Rajiv Kumar, AEE PHE Sub-Divison Akhnoor, shall be Presenting Officer in the case.
The Inquiry Officer shall conduct an exhaustive enquiry and submit his report alongwith specific recommendations to the Government within 15 days.
In the statement of fact filed before CAT, Rajinder Kumar Gupta had stated that the petitioners have pending wages amounting to Rs 7.12 lakh, which will be paid to them as and when the additional funds demanded from the higher authorities are provided.
When the matter was examined by the Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Jammu, he found that no muster sheets were available in respect of the applicants, which is a pre-requisite condition for drawing wages as NBCL under proper head.
Further, the incumbent Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Division Akhnoor filed a fresh compliance report to the CAT on February 10, 2024 submitting that no muster sheets are available in respect of the applicant, who is presently getting his wages regularly.
