DHS Jammu reviews healthcare service delivery in Ramban

RAMBAN, May 15: Director Health Services (DHS) Jammu, Dr Rakesh Magotra today visited district Ramban to conduct a comprehensive review of Health Services and functioning of Health institutions in the district.
The Director also reviewed the progress on infrastructural development projects sanctioned and taken up under various schemes besides discussing preparedness for ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra at designated sites. He instructed the CMO Dr Kamal Je Zadu to prepare a plan to depute adequate doctors and paramedical staff in medical camps at identified locations to facilitate the Amarnath yatries in the district.
The meeting among others was attended by Medical Superintendent Dr Varinder Trisal and Block Medical Officers of respective blocks of the district. The Director reviewed the staff position of all Health institutions. He was informed that Rs 419 lakh were spent on Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna against 6790 claims. Moreover, under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme, a total 919 Dialysis sessions were held in the year 2023-24.
Additionally, under Janani Suraksha Yojna, a total 4232 institutional deliveries were held besides 597040 OPD were held in Health institutions across the district in the year 2023-24. Further 10,024 major and minor surgeries were performed in Health institutions.
It was informed that a total 1,00,630 children beneficiaries were screened from (0 to 18 years) under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram in district Ramban during the year 2023-24. The meeting was informed that the Drug De Addiction centre was made functional from September 2022 at DH Ramban and got converted into Addiction Treatment Facility Centre from February 2024.
The Director took note of status of National Health Programmes/Centrally Sponsored Schemes and directed the concerned to put in more efforts to achieve targets in the stipulated time under respective schemes.
During his visit to NTPHC Chanderkote, the Director took a round of all sections of the Health institution to assess the public health care delivery system in the Health institution. He checked the records and registers and interacted with the Medical Officer, paramedical staff and patients.
