3 killed, 10 injured in road accidents

JAMMU, May 15: Three people died and 10 sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Samba, Ramban and Jammu district today.

Two Sadhus, identified as Bhim Giri (55) and Suresh Kumar (52), both residents of Narwal Bypass, Jammu, were killed when a scooty (JK02CX-3933) they were riding on was hit by a heavy load truck (MHISEG-5531) on the National Highway in Samba district around 10 am.
The duo was headed towards Pathankot.
At Banihal area of Ramban district, a 17-year-old girl identified as Saboora Rafiq was killed after she was hit by a speedy truck near the Banihal court complex along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
While bodies of all the deceased have been shifted to the mortuaries of the hospital for conducting the post-mortems, cases under the relevant sections of the law stand registered at concerned police stations.
Meanwhile, in Akhnoor area of Jammu District, 10 people sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in turned turtle near Balle-Da-Bagh area this evening.
All the injured were shifted to a hospital where their condition is stated to be stable.
Police have taken the cognisance of the matter and started further investigation.
