JAMMU, May 15: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Traffic Jammu Range, Dr Haseeb Mughal today visited Doda and Bhaderwah to interact with various sections of society.
According to a statement issued by the Traffic Police Headquarters National Highway Ramban, Mughal engaged with stakeholders including members of Beopar Mandal, NGOs, transporters, civil society, intellectuals, and prominent citizens in both locations.
In these meetings, grievances regarding traffic violations in Doda, Bhaderwah, and Kishtwar were addressed.
Discussions focused on improving traffic management in the Chenab Valley, considering the hilly terrain, under-construction road projects, repair works, and frequent fatal accidents.
Issues such as stunt bike driving, e-rickshaws, parking problems, underage driving, movement of dumpers, transport shortages, and congestion were thoroughly discussed.
Mughal issued immediate directives to address actionable points for public convenience.
The meetings were attended by DC Doda Harvinder Singh, SSP Doda Javed Iqbal, SSP Traffic NHW Rohit Baskotra, Dy-SP Traffic Doda Kishtwar Shamsher Singh, Dy-SP Headquarters Doda Ajay Anand, and ARTO Doda Rajesh Gupta.
DC Doda emphasized better coordination among stakeholders, while SSP Doda urged public assistance to curb traffic violations. SSP NHW stressed strict enforcement against violators to reduce accidents.
Concluding the meetings, Mughal highlighted the importance of obeying traffic laws and the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to improve traffic conditions and reduce accidents.
