JKTJAC deputation meets DSEJ, raises issues of teaching fraternity

JAMMU, May 15: A deputation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC), led by UT President Vinod Sharma, today called on Director School Education Jammu Ashok Kumar Sharma in his office chamber for seeking redressal of the burning issues of the teaching fraternity.
While interacting, Vinod Sharma highlighted the issue of one time exemption in enhanced higher qualification and said that teachers appointed under ReT scheme who have acquired their qualification during ReT period be exempted from this . He said that many have completed their qualification during ReT period and some initiated their qualification during ReT period and got completed after their regularisation. He further said that at that time service books of the ReTs weren’t available.
He also raised various other issues, such as issuance of list of conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III, regularisation of ReTs who have completed 5 years ReT period; approval to mutual transfer cases of teachers appointed under ReT scheme, etc.
The Director gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to redress each and every issue raised by JKTJAC leadership immediately after Model Code of Conduct and said that the process at the moment is going on including exercise in regularisation and conversion.
Others who were part of the deputation included; Rajesh Jamwal (Prov President), Sukesh Khajuria, Khazan Singh, Ravinder Singh Manhas, Parmod Sharma, Vipen Raina, Surinder Singh Choudhary, Zabeer Malik, Akhter Malik and others.
